Who We Are
Sally Ballard has worked for regional and UK national newspapers (The Guardian, The Times, Telegraph, Independent, The Sun, Oxford Times etc), magazines, and online publications for some 25 years. She has worked both as staff and freelance writing and editing.
More recently she edited, with Lawrence Sear, two Geopolitical Websites for a European think tank publishing major reports each day on world affairs.
Over the years, Sally has written news and features, edited bespoke publications, sub-edited and designed for print and online, and worked as production editor, editor, and launch editor for a range of publications. She has been responsible for designing websites and integrating social media platforms. She worked as an in-house consultant to revamp the business section of The Star, one of Malaysia's leading daily papers.
Sally was co-editor of 20 children’s books published by Japanese publisher Shinseken and translated into English.
She has lectured in journalism at top UK universities, and held professional communication workshops for those working in the community, start-up businesses and multi-nationals. Having completed a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Warwick, Sally designed, wrote and delivered the university's first wholly-online course – Writing for Publication.

Lawrence Sear has edited morning, evening and weekly newspapers and was managing editor of the UK’s two leading national newspapers, The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail for more than a decade.
He continues to write most days and has complied a factual book about the Airbnb industry. He also researches and writes about the history, nature and tourism of North Norfolk, UK. He posts regularly on social media.
His years in the print business have seen him improve editorial content and design over a range of provincial and national papers. He and Sally Ballard worked on one of Malaysia's top daily newspapers, The Star, to prepare the tabloid for integration online.
Lawrence believes in the need for clear, simple communication in delivering a message.
He believes in good, clear writing and has himself mentored up-and-coming writers to achieve their full potential.
Lawrence can provide that inside knowledge which will make the difference to writers for print and online.
